The EMS Production Supervisor coordinates activities of workers engaged in component prep, electronic and mechanical assembly, soldering, SMT, Test, and Rework to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties.

  • Directly supervises employees in production
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization' s policies
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and work orders to employees, and assigns duties
  • Maintains production white boards in area to reflect WIP, operator throughput per hours and reports back to manager
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications
  • Directs workers in SMT, prep, assembly, or rework to repair products that fail to meet standards Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department, or work crew
  • Tracks supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from purchasing when needed
  • Reviews all maintenance and calibration logs to ensure that the equipment is maintained per specification and calibrations have not expired

  • 5-7 years in a supervisory and or management role in a EMS Printed Circuit Board Assembly Associates Degree or higher
  • Must be proficient in English and have exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with project managers, co-workers, as well as all departments in the company
  • Must have strong computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word and Access Lean manufacturing expert preferred (5S and Kaizen)
