Perform professional quality engineering requirements involving the application of procedural requirements and control criteria in the development and administration of quality procedures and techniques to assure the products meet and exceed company/customer standards. Provide support to the overall Quality Management System (QMS) in support of customer requirements, company goals and quality initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assess Customer requirements at receipt of order to ensure the system is set up properly so that all Quality requirements and flow-downs are achievable upon product build (Contract Review).
  • Review and approve supplier purchase orders and/or data packages.
  • Perform investigations on non-conforming products or parts to ensure thorough root causes and corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Final review of manufacturing work instructions to ensure they contain the necessary details to facilitate proper execution of assemblies in mass production environments.
  • Participate in Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) as assigned and additionally assist teams in utilizing tools to find true root causes and strong corrective actions.
  • Interface with customers for quality/reliability issues as assigned.
  • Support metric monitoring & actions as required for continued quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform ISO/AS internal audits.
  • Complete and submit First Article Data packages.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to drive continuous improvements.
  • Perform periodic shop floor (Genba) walks.
  • Support supplier/customer audits and visits

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to interpret all customer documents and related specifications.
  • Multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong quantitative/problem solving skills (i.E., PDCA or DMAIC), detail oriented and thorough.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management/personnel, team player and build rapport/credibility
  • Understanding of IPC-A-610/620 and J-STD-001 requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, facilitation, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Degree, preferably Bachelors in a technical discipline (i.E., Engineering).
  • 5 years experience managing quality systems and processes in electronics industry.
  • 3 years of quality engineering experience.
  • Experience conducting supplier or hosting customer audits
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, MIL-PRF-38534, ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 is a plus.
  • Medical device experience is a plus.
  • ASQ Certification is a plus.
